Job Description
Posted on: May 11, 2026
Electrical Engineering — AI Data TrainerAbout The Role We partner with the world's leading AI research labs to train and improve the next generation of AI models — and we need expert electrical engineers to help us get there. As an Electrical Engineering AI Trainer, you'll use your deep technical knowledge to challenge, evaluate, and refine how advanced AI systems reason through complex engineering problems. From circuit analysis to signal processing, your expertise will directly shape the quality and reliability of AI in STEM domains. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role — work on your own schedule, from anywhere.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Challenging Problems — Craft advanced electrical engineering problems across domains like circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, and control systems to stress-test AI performance
- Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions and benchmark responses that AI models use as learning targets
- Audit Technical Accuracy — Evaluate AI-generated outputs including code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for correctness, safety, and adherence to engineering standards (IEEE, NEC, etc.)
- Refine AI Reasoning — Identify flaws in AI logic and provide structured, actionable feedback to improve how models approach engineering problems
- Document Failure Modes — Record where and how AI reasoning breaks down so research teams can systematically harden model performance
Who You Are
- Holds or is pursuing a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
- Strong foundational expertise in one or more core areas: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, embedded systems, or signal processing
- Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing
- High attention to detail — comfortable scrutinising mathematical equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation
- Self-directed and reliable when working independently on task-based assignments
- No prior AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, technical writing, or quality evaluation workflows
- Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB, SPICE, etc.)
- Background in academic research or engineering standards bodies
Why Join Us
- Work on genuinely cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research labs
- Fully remote and async — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with collaborative, global teamwork
- Meaningful impact: your engineering knowledge directly improves how AI handles technical reasoning
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
