Biology Researcher (Masters/PhDs) - AI TrainingAbout The Role What if your years of biology research could directly shape how AI understands genetics, molecular biology, and biotechnology — for millions of people around the world? We're looking for biology experts with advanced degrees to help build and train cutting-edge AI models. You'll bring your scientific depth to bear on complex, real-world problems — ensuring that the AI systems influencing research, medicine, and technology are grounded in rigorous, accurate science. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No prior AI experience needed — just deep expertise in biology and a commitment to scientific excellence.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
  • Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design complex, rigorous problem sets
  • Evaluate AI-generated biological content for scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve AI model reasoning in the life sciences
  • Ensure scientific rigor, precision, and quality across all deliverables

Who You Are

  • Holds a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field — Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or similar
  • Strong expertise in one or more of: genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or molecular biology
  • Comfortable working with Python or R for research, data analysis, or scripting
  • Exceptional written communicator — able to explain complex concepts with clarity and precision
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable when working independently
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
  • Background in computational biology or systems biology
  • Experience writing for scientific publications, grant proposals, or technical documentation
  • Familiarity with AI tools or large language model evaluation as an end user

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based scientific work
  • Make a direct impact on how AI reasons about biology, medicine, and the life sciences
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
