Lead Scheduler & Training DeveloperModernization Center of Excellence | Federal ProgramsRemote (U.S.-based) | Occasional travel (10–15 days per year)About This Role

This isn't a traditional scheduling position. We're building something new.

Agile Group is establishing a Center of Excellence for Scheduling to modernize how a major federal government client manages enterprise programs. We need a Lead Scheduler who can design training curricula, mentor the next generation of federal schedulers, and drive the migration from legacy systems to Oracle Primavera Cloud.

If you've spent your career wishing, you could redesign how scheduling is taught and practiced—not just execute someone else's process—this role is for you.

What You'll Actually Do

Design and deliver an Advanced Scheduling Course for our federal client

You'll create a comprehensive, real-world training program that will be taught five times in the next year. This isn't off-the-shelf training. You'll build the curriculum, develop the materials, and ensure it produces master schedulers who can lead complex federal programs.

Establish the scheduling Center of Excellence

You'll define the standards, tools, and governance that will guide scheduling across the client's modernization portfolio. This means creating frameworks that balance rigor with practicality and building a culture of scheduling excellence.

Lead the Primavera P6 to Oracle Cloud migration

You'll guide teams through the technical and cultural challenges of modernization. This requires not just knowing the tools but understanding how to help organizations change the way they work.

Mentor and elevate junior schedulers

You'll be the go-to advisor for project teams navigating complex scheduling challenges. Your role is to make others better at what they do.

Brief senior leadership

You'll translate schedule complexity into executive insights. Client leaders will rely on your analysis to make critical program decisions.

Who Thrives in This Role

You're a teacher at heart. You don't just know scheduling—you can explain why certain approaches work and help others develop mastery. You've probably wished you could rewrite the training you received early in your career.

You're driven by modernization, not maintenance. You're energized by the challenge of moving organizations from legacy systems to modern platforms. You understand that technological change is really about people change.

You have federal program experience. You understand the unique rhythms, stakeholder dynamics, and compliance requirements of government work. Experience with federal agencies or DoD programs is essential.

You're proactive and client focused. You don't wait for problems to escalate—you identify them early and bring solutions. You build trust through reliability and results.

You value standards and rigor. You believe in doing scheduling right, not just doing it fast. You can articulate why certain practices matter and hold the line when it counts.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 – $140,000 annually, based on experience and demonstrated training/development expertise
  • 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Annual profit-sharing opportunities
  • Generous PTO, federal holidays, and flexible scheduling
  • Professional development budget (certifications, conferences, training)
  • Fully remote with occasional travel for training delivery and stakeholder engagement

Why Agile Group?

We're a fast-growing, woman-owned small business that wins work by delivering excellence, not just checking boxes. Our federal clients trust us because we bring innovation and rigor in equal measure.

You'll have direct impact on how a major federal agency manages billions of dollars in infrastructure and national security programs. You'll help build the next generation of federal schedulers. And you'll do it as part of a collaborative team that values creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

If you're ready to move from executing schedules to shaping how scheduling is done, we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements:

Required Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field
  • 10+ years of professional scheduling experience supporting Federal Government programs
  • Direct experience with federal agencies or DoD programs (not just commercial or private sector work)
  • Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and Oracle Primavera Cloud
  • Proven experience developing training materials and delivering instruction to technical audiences
  • Track record of leading schedule migrations, modernization efforts, or Center of Excellence initiatives
  • Strong executive communication skills with experience briefing senior government leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to establish standards, mentor staff, and drive process improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or PMP certification
  • Instructional design experience or formal training development background
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost/schedule integration expertise
  • Experience with Agile frameworks or hybrid delivery models
  • Power BI or similar visualization tools for schedule reporting
  • Published thought leadership (articles, presentations, white papers on scheduling excellence)

What Sets This Apart

This is a federal modernization role, not an operational support position. We're looking for someone who wants to build new capabilities and train others—not someone who just wants to maintain existing schedules in a comfortable sector.

If your experience is primarily in oil & gas, construction, or commercial project management without significant federal government exposure, this likely isn't the right fit. The regulatory environment, stakeholder complexity, and modernization context are fundamentally different.

Apply by submitting:

  • Your resume highlighting federal government scheduling experience
  • A brief cover letter describing your most impactful training or modernization initiative
  • Any relevant certifications or professional credentials

Agile Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
