Job Title: Legal Conflicts Research Assistant

Pay: $69,000 – $80,000 depending on experience (overtime eligible)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM ET | 40+ hours/week | Paid OT with supervisor approval

Job Description:

Addison Group is seeking three Conflicts Research Assistant for a fully remote opportunity supporting our client’s Conflicts Department. These roles are ideal for individuals with a strong background in legal or corporate research who are highly analytical, detail-oriented, and based in the D.C., Maryland, or Northern Virginia region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct conflict checks related to new matters and incoming professionals.
  • Perform detailed research using internal databases and external resources.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to collect accurate and complete information.
  • Draft clear, concise reports summarizing findings for attorney review.
  • Develop and execute search strategies to identify potential conflicts of interest.
  • Support urgent research requests and provide coverage during off-hours or holidays, as needed.
  • Maintain confidential internal databases and uphold professional discretion.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in legal conflicts, compliance, or corporate research preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general research tools (no specific software required; training provided).
  • Familiarity with corporate structures and legal terminology is helpful.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Must reside in the DMV area.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Additional Details:

  • The client does not provide sponsorship.
  • Candidates should be able to commit to at least 12+ months in the position.
  • Those planning to attend law school within the next year will not be considered.
  • Target start date: 10/13 (client moves quickly with interviews).
  • Interview Process: Initial recruiter screen, Panel interview with department leadership, Final interview with senior legal counsel
  • Work is fully remote, but DMV-area candidates only (for occasional in-person requirements)
