Remote – U.S. | Full-Time | Travel Industry
You know the travel industry. Now help the businesses in it grow.If you've spent your career around tours, attractions, experiences, travel technology, booking platforms, hospitality, or tourism SaaS, you already know this industry is different.
You understand the seasonality. The OTAs. The booking platforms. The battle for direct bookings. The operational headaches. The importance of reviews. And the fact that getting more traffic doesn't mean much if it doesn't turn into more revenue.
AAMP Agency is looking for a Business Development Manager who speaks that language.
We're a growing marketing agency specializing in the travel, tourism, attractions and experiences industry, and we're looking for someone who can help us build relationships with the operators and tourism businesses we were built to serve.
This is a new business development role focused initially on prospecting, relationship building, qualifying opportunities, and creating great conversations for our sales leadership team.
Longer term? There's plenty of room to grow into owning more of the sales cycle.
Why this role is differentWe're not necessarily looking for someone who has spent their entire career selling marketing services.
In fact, some of our most interesting candidates may be working today for a booking or ticketing platform, travel SaaS company, OTA, tourism technology provider, tour operator, attraction, DMO or another company serving the travel industry.
If you understand the business challenges operators face, we can teach you the AAMP side of the equation.
You'll learn how websites, SEO, paid media, social, content, analytics and digital strategy come together to help tourism businesses generate demand and drive more direct bookings.
Your industry experience gives you something that's much harder to teach: the ability to have a credible conversation with an operator about their business.
What You'll DoYou'll help AAMP find and develop our next great client relationships.
- Identify and research tourism businesses that fit AAMP's ideal client profile.
- Build a healthy pipeline through thoughtful outbound prospecting, phone outreach, email, LinkedIn, referrals, industry relationships and events.
- Start conversations with owners, founders, GMs, marketing leaders and other decision-makers.
- Understand a prospect's business before pitching them—what they sell, how guests book, where they're struggling and where growth opportunities may exist.
- Qualify opportunities and set high-quality discovery meetings for AAMP's sales leadership team.
- Develop relationships over time instead of treating every interaction like a transaction.
- Represent AAMP at tourism conferences, trade shows and industry events.
- Stay connected to what's happening across tourism, attractions, travel technology, booking platforms and digital marketing.
- Keep prospect activity, opportunities and next steps organized within our sales platform.
- Work closely with AAMP leadership on target accounts, outreach strategy, partnerships and new-market opportunities.
- Share what you're hearing from operators so we continue evolving our services around the real challenges facing tourism businesses.
Travel and tourism industry experience is strongly preferred.
You might currently work in:
Travel SaaS or tourism technology • Booking/ticketing platforms • Tours & attractions • Experiences • OTAs • Hospitality • Destination marketing • Travel sales • Tourism partnerships • Tourism marketing
You don't need to check every box.
What matters most is that you understand this industry, know how to build relationships and aren't afraid to create opportunities instead of waiting for them to arrive.
You'll probably thrive here if you:
- Have experience in business development, sales, partnerships, account management or another client-facing role.
- Understand the operational realities of running or supporting a tour, attraction or experience business.
- Are comfortable picking up the phone and starting a conversation with someone you've never met.
- Know how to network without making networking feel like a sales pitch.
- Can communicate with everyone from an owner/operator to a C-level executive.
- Are curious enough to research a company before reaching out.
- Understand consultative selling and know how to uncover a business problem before proposing a solution.
- Are comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Are organized and disciplined about CRM and follow-up.
- Like goals, accountability and knowing what winning looks like.
- Actually enjoy the travel and tourism industry.
Bonus points if you understand digital marketing, paid media, SEO, direct-booking strategies, tourism websites, attribution or the travel-tech ecosystem.
And if you've spent the last few years selling technology to tour and attraction operators and have thought, "I'd love to do something different with everything I've learned about this industry," we'd especially like to talk to you.
What Success Looks LikeThis role is about creating quality opportunities, not activity for activity's sake.
Following an initial ramp period, the target is approximately 20 qualified meetings held per month with tourism businesses that fit AAMP's ideal client profile.
You'll have clear goals, visibility into your pipeline and the support of AAMP's sales leadership team as you build your territory and relationships.
As you succeed, the role may evolve beyond pipeline development into greater ownership of the sales cycle.
